UL was founded 21 years ago to fulfill a need, the need for a salon/spa in Chemainus that offered exceptional quality services and products for our clients and a friendly, stable, well-run business for salon personnel to work, thrive and practice their craft.  This is still our goal.

Our clients are looking for experienced professionals, so experience is a must.

  • Experienced in Haircutting and Blow Dry Styling of all lengths and types of hair.

  • Able to perform Confident consultations, make a plan and carry it out

  • Experienced with Various Hair Colouring and Highlighting techniques

  • Great attitude and adaptability

  • Consistent positive demeanor

  • Willingness to learn and work with a team

HOW MUCH WILL YOU MAKE AND WHAT HOURS WILL YOU WORK?

We are a Monday to Friday business, so you are off on Weekends and Stat Holidays.

Work schedules are designed for each team member individually. Availability and schedules will be discussed during the interview process.

We compensate our team members with exceptional hourly wages. You are paid for all the time you work, whether you have clients or not.  You can plan your life around consistent reliable paychecks. This has a significant impact on our team culture and client experience - no one is rushing through their client to fit in more to make more money and if a client doesn’t show up/cancels, you aren’t out of pocket.  You are paid regardless of what you are doing. It takes the whole team to make UL operate smoothly and no matter how you’re contributing, you are getting paid.

  • $25-$50+ per hour (based on experience, education, etc.)

  • Monday to Friday work week (all weekends, STAT holidays, and Christmas week off)

  • Benefits such as CPP, EI, WorkSafe, STAT Pay, Sick Pay, Vacation Pay

  • Tips & Seasonal Bonuses: Our team enjoys a high % of tips. While not obligatory, our clients are generous based on quality of service. UL pays CPP and EI on your tips, too, which is a bonus.

  • Staff Pricing on all products and services like Laser Hair Removal, Facials, Waxing, Botox, Filler, and more.

While we are looking for a full-time team member, part-time applications will be considered.
